To Exclude a Monitored Folder or Registered Document from Synchronization

Any monitored folder or registered document is automatically available for inclusion in the next synchronization of the item or the item containing it. When you exclude a monitored folder, it will be skipped by subsequent synchronizations. When you exclude a registered document, it will still be included in subsequent synchronizations.

  1. Open the Explore tab (View > Explore).
  2. Click the ProjectWise icon .
  3. Expand your datasource until you find the folder or document you want to exclude.
  4. Right-click the folder and select Exclude, or right-click the document and select Registered Document > Exclude.

If you excluded a monitored folder, the folder icon becomes transparent, indicating that the folder is still being monitored but not available for synchronization.

If you excluded a registered document, the document is unregistered and the document icon becomes transparent again, the way it was before the document was originally registered.

Tip: Excluding (unregistering) a registered document does not fully delete the document from AssetWise; you can still find the document through a document search. However, it does remove the file from the Files topic on the document so that AssetWise users can not longer access the file.
Note: You can only exclude a registered document that references the original document in ProjectWise. You cannot exclude registered documents that were moved from ProjectWise, as those documents are removed from the document list in AssetWise after the move and there is no original document left in ProjectWise to synchronize with.

You can re-include any folder you excluded. To re-include a document that you excluded, you need to re-register the document.

To Include a Folder That Was Excluded

Right-click the excluded (transparent) folder and select Include.

To Include a Document That Was Excluded

Manually register the document. See To Manually Register a ProjectWise Document .
